Sumqayit Cycling Sport Club (SCSC)

Azerbaijan’s first professional club

Sumqayit Cycling Sport Club (SCSC) has been established in 2010. Since the Club has been running its main target has been to develop the young athletes and the cycling sport as well as motivating the young generation towards the healthy life style and to form a group of professional cyclists, who will successfully represent Azerbaijan at international level. At present the club has over 250 active members training in groups of professional and amateur cyclists.

Club owner:

Qafur Mustafayev, the former professional Azerbaijani cyclists and the winner of the Azerbaijan Championship, is the founder and the manager of the SCSC. Despite being still young his broad experience allows him to teach the secrets of cycling to his students. As the result of it his trainees have successfully represented Azerbaijan, so far in many different international events. Tural Isgandarov, one of the Club's trainee and presently riding as Pro, has just been a member of Azerbaijan's first Continental Team Synergy Baku Cycling Project. He's the first cyclists of Azerbaijan, who has gained the Olympic points in his early career. Earlier in 2011 Tural has taken the win at the Azerbaijan Championship by finishing 10 seconds ahead of his competitor. Further to Tural Iskgandarov's successful career we can also point out the 2012 Heydar Aliyev Cycling Event, where he took the Best Cyclist award.
