Fikrat Akif oglu Huseynov was born on November 11, 1969, in Baku. From 1986 to 1991, he studied at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sports in the Faculty of “Physical Education and Sports,” specializing as a football coach-teacher.
During his professional career, he has held the following positions:
1992–1996: Head of the Sports Department at Baku Metro
1996–2006: Manager at the “Neftchi Veterans” Club
2006–2024: Head of the Division for Olympic and Paralympic Sports at the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan
2006–2015: First Vice-President of the “AZAL” Football Club
2008–2015: Participated in various FIFA and UEFA events as a member of the European Club Association
2015–2020: President of the “AZAL” Football Club
2015–2016: Chairman of the AFFA Clubs Committee
2021–present: Sports Advisor to the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of “Silk Way Group”
From April 8, 2024 – present: Director of the “Heydar Aliyev Sports and Concert Complex” LLC under the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan
On May 2, 2025, he was elected as the Executive Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation.
In accordance with the Order No. 1344 of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, dated July 24, 2019, he was awarded the medal "For Distinction in Public Service".
According to the Order of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, dated December 25, 2025, he was awarded the "Taraggi" (Progress) Medal for his services in the development of sports in Azerbaijan.
He is an honored physical education and sports worker of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a master of sports.
He is married and has two children.
