On the occasion of November 9 – State Flag Day, a grand cycling tour was organized jointly by the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation, the Seaside Boulevard Administration, and the “Regional Development” Public Union.

Taking off from State Flag Square, the cycling tour was also joined by Farid Gayibov, Minister of Youth and Sports, who participated on his bicycle. More than 300 professional and amateur cyclists, including para-cyclists, rode along the bicycle paths in the Seaside Boulevard area toward Victory Park. From near Crescent Mall to Victory Park, participants were accompanied by motorcyclists carrying the Azerbaijani flag.

Farid Gayibov, Minister of Youth and Sports, participated in the cycling tour.

Participants of the cycling tour who reached the finish line were awarded commemorative medals. Afterwards, floral wreaths were laid in front of the Victory Park monument, paying tribute to the heroes of the 44-day Patriotic War.

The youngest participant of the cycling tour was awarded a medal.

Answering questions from the press, Sahib Ələkbərov, First Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation, stated that the main purpose of the cycling tour was to highlight the public significance of State Flag Day, instill in young people a sense of respect and reverence for our glorious Victory Flag, attract teenagers and youth to cycling, considered an elite sport, and promote the use of bicycle paths established across the country.

The cycling tour concluded in front of the Victory Arch with patriotic musical performances and the traditional “Yallı” dance.
