The International Cycling Union (UCI) has sent its final evaluation report on the outcomes of the Baku-Khankendi Azerbaijan Cycling Race to the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation.
The report rated the race as "a well-organized event with great potential for the future," with the evaluations for specific areas detailed as follows:
– Safety
Safety during the race was organized at a high standard; the police and medical services demonstrated excellent performance.
– Spectators and Route
High spectator interest, suitable distances and race profile, favorable weather conditions, and beautiful landscapes.
– Team Accommodation
High quality and good organization. All participants were satisfied with the accommodation, meals, and provided amenities.
– TV Broadcast
Satisfactory performance; a professional, experienced, and well-equipped crew.
– Organization
Acceptable organization. Overall, management across all aspects was at a good level, though the improvement of certain minor details would be beneficial.
As a reminder, the Baku-Khankendi Azerbaijan Cycling Race, dedicated to the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, took place from May 10 to 14. It featured 24 teams from 20 countries representing every continent, including 1 WorldTour team, 4 ProTeams, 18 continental teams, and 1 national team. Starting on May 10 at the "Sea Breeze Resort" in Baku, the participants covered a distance of over 850 kilometers over five days - passing through the most scenic sights of Baku and 20 other cities and regions — before reaching the final finish line in the city of Khankendi on May 14. All stages of the race were broadcast live on Eurosport and CBC Sport.
