"It was a beautiful race. The organization was at a good level. Throughout the stages, we passed through very diverse, beautiful, and scenic places. I can especially highlight the beauty of the city of Baku. This is my first time visiting Baku. Previously, I had seen it on television a few times while watching Formula 1 races."
Josh Burnett, the winner of the Baku-Khankendi Azerbaijan Cycling Race and cyclist for Spain's pro-continental team "Burgos Burpellet PH", shared these remarks in an interview with bakukhankendi.az.
According to him, the secret to the victory lies in excellent teamwork: "We have a very strong team, and the technical staff also gave us huge support. The only thing we had to do was prepare for the race."
"People in Azerbaijan are very friendly. The race organizers, the spectators standing by the roadside, the children asking for autographs – everyone showed a very warm attitude. We feel the massive interest people have in the race. In general, traveling the world by riding a bicycle is a great privilege," Burnett emphasized.
