"The race is organized at a very high level. We were accommodated in beautiful hotels. After each stage, we had the opportunity to rest comfortably and prepare for the next stage. The roads are very beautiful, wide, and clean, and most importantly, safe. This is very important for us."
Eric Fagúndez, a member of Spain's "Burgos Burpellet BH" team, who crossed the finish line 3rd in the 5th stage of the Baku-Khankendi Azerbaijan Cycling Race, said these words in an interview with bakukhankendi.az.
"The places we passed through during the stages were very beautiful. As a team, we were very pleased with the race," the cyclist noted.
Fagúndez also spoke about the challenges he faced during the race: "The hardest part of the race was the climbs. The final stage held today was generally the toughest one for me."
The cyclist stated that people in Azerbaijan are very friendly and welcomed them very warmly: "At the start of the stage, we had the opportunity to speak with the local people. They expressed that they really like the race and this sport."
