The Federation Cup for amateur cyclists was held at Velopark, jointly organized by the Baku City Youth and Sports Department and the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation. Nearly 50 participants competed in the event, with winners determined in three age categories.
Before the race, participant Rafael Gasimov, who celebrated his 46th birthday, was presented with a commemorative gift by the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation.
The 34 km race among men aged 35-49 ended with a victory for Mahammad Alakbarov. Ziyad Valiyev finished second, while Nabi Abbasov took third place.
Among men over the age of 50, Etibar Hasanov was the first to complete the 17 km distance. Yusif Najafov and Fizuli Ismayilov finished second and third, respectively.
Among the women, Natalya Vallek proved stronger than all her rivals in the 17 km race. Yelena Dubentsova and Ulfat Nazarlı finished second and third, respectively.
The distinguished participants were presented with awards by Fikrat Huseynov, Executive Vice President of the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation, and Vladimir Bushanskiy, the federation’s Sports Director.
