The Republican Sports Olympiad for Schoolchildren will be held in the country for the first time, jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with the support of the Baku City Circuit Operations Company and relevant sports federations.
The Olympiad aims to develop sports among schoolchildren, promote a healthy lifestyle, improve physical fitness, and discover talented youth.
Participants will compete in weightlifting, athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, judo, Greco-Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling, rhythmic gymnastics, table tennis, taekwondo, and cycling. In total, more than 2,000 schoolchildren will represent 59 districts and cities of our country. The schoolchildren participating in the Olympiad are students of children and youth sports schools operating under the Ministry of Science and Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The opening ceremony of the Republican Sports Olympiad for Schoolchildren will take place on June 20 at Baku Crystal Hall. The competitions will span from June 21 to June 26.
