Competitions in the cycling discipline have kicked off as part of the Republican School Sports Olympiad. On the first day of the competition, held at the Baku Velopark, boys competed on mountain bikes over a distance of 13 kilometers.
At the end of the competition, which took place in a tense and exciting sporting atmosphere, the top three places were claimed by representatives of the Aghdash Children and Youth Sports Chess School. Samir Karimov finished 1st, covering the distance in 28 minutes and 53 seconds. Asif Ismayilzade took second place with a time of 29 minutes and 46 seconds, while Muhammad Karimli came in third with a performance of 29 minutes and 49 seconds.
On the 2nd day of competition, the participants will compete on road bikes. In the races to be held at the Velopark, boys will cover a distance of 20 km, and girls will cover 10 km. The award ceremony for all categories will take place tomorrow.
