The cycling competitions have concluded as part of the first-ever Republican School Sports Olympiad. The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with the support of the Baku City Circuit Operations Company and relevant sports federations. On the second competition day held at the Baku Velopark, winners were determined in two road cycling categories.
In the girls' 10 km road race, Maryam Huseynova, representing the Republican Olympic Reserves Specialized Children and Youth Cycling School (ROEİUGVM), crossed the finish line first with a time of 21 minutes and 31 seconds. Her teammate Marina Akimova secured 2nd place (23:00), while Nigar Yusifzade, a member of the "Tahsil" Republican Sports Center's Specialized Olympic Reserves Children and Youth Sports School No. 7, finished 3rd (23:04).
In the boys' 20 km road race, cyclists from the "Tahsil" Republican Sports Center's Specialized Olympic Reserves Children and Youth Sports School No. 7 swept the podium. Ilkin Sadigzade became the champion, covering the distance in 35 minutes and 10 seconds. Umid Ismayilov (35:31) and Nihad Akbarov (36:21) won the silver and bronze medals, respectively. The standout athletes were awarded medals and gifts.
