Our Elite/U23 national road cycling team, preparing for the "Baku–Khankendi" Azerbaijan Cycling Race to be held on May 10–14, is taking part in the "Tour of Fergana" race organized in Uzbekistan. In the two-stage race of the 2.2 category under the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), six of our cyclists are competing under the guidance of coach Elchin Asadov.
In the first stage, the best result among our representatives has been achieved by Musa Mikayilzade. After the first 25 km of the demanding 140 km mountainous route, he has joined a 10-rider leading group that remained intact until the finish. According to the stage results, Musa, who recorded the same time as the winner (3 hours, 20 minutes, 25 seconds), has finished in the 6th place.
In the second stage, cyclists will cover a distance of 141 km.
