The National Road Cycling Championship concluded with the road race events held in Khizi District on June 29–30. The championship was jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation. Despite the challenging mountainous terrain, rainy weather, dense fog, and intense competition, the country's strongest cyclists were determined.
In the Junior Men (96 km) race, Nihad Khudoyev of the Republican Olympic Reserve Specialized Youth Cycling School claimed the national title after outperforming all of his rivals. Another representative of the same school, Maryam Huseynova, crossed the finish line first in the Girls U17 (40 km) event to win the gold medal.
In the Boys U17 (70 km) race, Raul Mahmudov of AE Cycling School secured first place. In the Elite/U23 Men (118 km) event, Musa Mikayilzade, also representing AE Cycling School, delivered a confident performance to claim the championship title.
The results of the National Championship have been submitted to the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and will be reflected in the international rankings of both the athletes and their national federation.
In addition to medals and diplomas, all prize winners received cash awards from the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation. Furthermore, every gold medalist was presented with a special national champion's jersey by the Federation.
