The National Cup in track cycling events was held on August 6-7 at the Republican Velodrome, jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation. Cyclists competing in various age categories took part in individual and group events.
On the first day of competition, the 1 km individual time trial for cyclists born in 2008-2009 ended with a victory for Rahim Nagiyev. Chingiz Isayev and Nihad Khudoyev finished second and third, respectively.
In the 500 m individual time trial among boys born in 2012–2014, Ismayil Khankishiyev took first place. Mahammadali Agazade won silver, while Elcan Yusifzade took bronze.
Among boys born in 2010–2011, Emil Vakhromeyev won the gold medal. Nihad Akbarov finished second, while Ilkin Sadigzade took third place.
In the 500 m individual time trial for girls born in 2012–2014, Amina Jafarova emerged victorious. Suvar Isayeva won silver, while Elenika Valizade took bronze.
Among girls born in 2010–2011, Maryam Huseynova claimed the top step of the podium. Marina Akimova finished second, while Nigar Yusifzade took third place.
In the elimination race included in the first day’s programme, Chingiz Isayev finished first, Nihad Khudoyev second, and Rahim Nagiyev third.
On the second day of the competition, participants competed in a 2 km individual time trial. Among boys born in 2012–2014, Ismayil Khankishiyev secured another victory. Elcan Yusifzade won silver, while Anar Mustafazade took bronze.
Among boys born in 2010–2011, Emil Vakhromeyev was the winner. Ali Zeynalzade finished second, while Nihad Akbarov took third place.
In the 2012–2014 age category for girls, Amina Jafarova won the gold medal. Elenika Valizade took silver, while Suvar Isayeva won bronze.
In the competition among girls born in 2010–2011, Maryam Huseynova finished first. Marina Akimova took second place, while Nigar Yusifzade finished third.
In the 7.5 km scratch race, Rahim Nagiyev proved to be the strongest rider. Chingiz Isayev finished second, while Murad Nadirov took third place. The outstanding athletes were awarded medals and diplomas.
